Josh has a Blog!

I really, really should have done this earlier.

I believe an apology is in order.

Nathan left about a week and a half ago, and I have yet to blog at all about the trip. This is a travesty of unparalleled proportions. I apologize to all those who have suffered dissapointment at my lack up a substantial update when something quite substantial was actually occurring.

Nathan was here! Great times were had! And I'm going to blog about them right now, with the kind of hazy memory that a week and a half brings.

Nathan arrived well before my school let the students out. As such, as I left the school building to get picked up, I found an already mentally and emotionally scarred shell of the Nathan I used to know. "It wasn't really THAT bad, Josh", a Natan wrought with desperate denial replied as I inquired about his state of being.

It just got worse as time went on. He spent hours STARING at glowing boxes, inert except for intended-to-be-witty quips, trying to cope with his situation using humor. It didn't work. Every night, he would slip into an unconscious state, sometimes for hours. Equally long were the periods during which he experienced loss of apetite, usually right after lunch. In short, it was traumatic for all of us. He would shoot off nonsense, like "This isn't so bad" and "I'm having fun" the whole time. He just couldn't deal.

What? You want PICTURES of this man's decline into insanity? I suppose you fancy yourself a sadist. Alright. They're pretty much all from the Aquarium and the zoo, the latter of which I am shocked to find did not find a cage for him immediately. I, personally, would have mistaken him for an exotic, raving animal.

Awww. How cute. :O

Hint: The answer rhymes with "Dot Gary" and is "Not Very".

In this next shot, I was quite eager to get in the frame.

Nathan is not very happy with my pose in this particular photo, for some reason. He was quite upset with my choice, saying "Oh, THAT'S going to be the picture? You LAUGHING at me?"

Revenge is a bitter, terrible thing. Can't we all just get along? =(
Nathan's love of Yogi Bear and his NOT being bewildered or embarassed is not apparent in this photo. But it's there. Seriously.
We're cool.

You Can't Drink Just Six!

First of all, I'm excited that Nathan's going to be here in two days! This is going to be great.

He and I have been obsessively researching a viral ad campaign that has been going on for a film with no name. Codenamed "Cloverfield", this movie was first revealed to me by this trailer:

http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount/11808/

Anyway, SOMETHING big has ripped the head off of the Statue of Liberty. Epic monster movie. I'm hooked. But there's no info on this movie. The name, the aforementioned, unseen monster, what is a guy to do?

Well, in the case of this film, they do give us a lot to speculate on:

Some characters have MySpaces. There are sites with pictures that you can flip over to reveal text. Everything is a puzzle, and it's great! I suppose I could just WAIT for the movie to actually come out on January 18th, but what fun is THAT?

By the way, the title of this blog post comes from http://slusho.jp/ , a website linked to "Cloverfield", AKA "1-18-08" or "That movie with the monster that rips the head off the Statue of Liberty". Anyway, with so many puzzles regarding Slusho and the company that owns it, we might yet learn what created the statue-decapitating beast.

I'm not going to delve into all of it, but this is the kind of uninteresting and highly unsociable activity I engage in, family. =P

Blog to ya all later! I'll be sure to get pictures of Nathan's visit!

PS:

By the way, what do you all know about cornbread and the number six?

This is the song that never ends......

Alright. I didn't plan on updating this until Natan's upcoming trip to....here(which is going to be AWESOME), but then NATHAN updated HIS, which was monumentous enough to make me get off my butt and make this thing.

Hello! I am Josh. If you don't know that, then you SHOULD, because you're probably a family member or close friend. I live a relatively boring existance most of the time, I'll try to make it interesting for those of you masochistic enough to come here regularly. My update schedule will be sporadic, I'm assuming. If I make a habit of updating, I'll ammend that.

Let me start off with an event I've already mentioned. Nathan's visit! I've known Nathan online for...three, four years. Great guy, best friend really. Anyway, he's going to arrive at my home on the 11th( =D ), and is leaving on the 17th ( =( ). My family and I have been doing a lot to prepare, looking more into local things we should already know about and buying STUFF. It's going to be a great time. I'll be sure to update with pictures and grand, highly exaggerated tales of our wacky, sitcom-like misadventures as soon as...he leaves, probably. Maybe I'll update while he's here, you'll just HAVE TO CHECK MY BLOG. Or your feed reader, if you're lazy even while sitting lethargically in front of a glowing screen, like myself.

Tonight was Monday night This is of GREAT importance to me, because Heroes, How I Met Your Mother, and Chuck are airing new episodes on Monday nights. Wonderful day. Well, night. The day is horrible, really. Start of the week during which work is a necessity, you're pulled from your weekend lull, and pies are flung into your face by an unkown, but undoubtably Monday-spawned, force. All in all a negative experience.
